Tripod - Height Adjustment
The images below show the way in which the height of the tripod can be adjusted. The legs of the tripod are made from 3/4" X 3/4" X 1/16" steel box tubing. The rectangular pieces which hold the leg in place are made from 3" X 1" X 1/16" thick steel tubing. These pieces are welded to the top leg which is furthest from the wing nut. When the wing nut is tightened, the two top sections and the bottom section are all sandwiched together, holding the legs in place.
